Long time, no time?

Does it ever feel like you have many things you want to do but you hardly get enough time to do them, and then you end up not doing so much? I like to believe that this experience is not personal and it actually happens to most people.

Anyway, I am happy to say that a lot has happened since the last time I did a piece. I will try not to be too excited; anything that takes me out of my usual life that revolves around my exhausting profession, which I am in a love-hate relationship with, brings such excitement to my spirit.

I embarked on an only girls’ vacation in May to one of the beautiful places in England called Lake District, also known as the Lakes or Lakeland, which is a in North West England. It is a popular holiday destination, known for its lakes, forests and mountains. We unanimously chose this location for our short stay because we had good reviews from other girls who had been and loved it.

How did I meet these girls? I never knew any of them prior to to this time, we all met on a Whatsapp group for budget travelling, had similar interests and the rest is history. The amazing part is the way we bonded with each other, it felt like we had known each other forever and we absolutely enjoyed ourselves. We shared, we cared and we had fun. Kayaking, boat ride, tree top climbing, archery, and food hunting were some of the fun things we did.

I think we all needed that break and we made good use of it. I forgot to mention! We got lost on sea. I am sure you are wondering how, haha! So, we got on this boat with a shabby navigation demo done by the staff and we were allowed to go with the boat. On our way back to the bay, we managed to sail into another island and that was the beginning of our over 30-minutes painful and scary ordeal of finding our way back.

Sadly, we did not have any red scarf to wave. We tried to ring the emergency number on the boat and we were asked to use google maps (I am sure you are as shocked as I was), and they were largely unhelpful. Finally, with team work and the help of some guys on the open sea, we found our way back. I was already thinking of how I will start afresh in one of those islands, sing and dance with those mermaids while wearing bikinis made of leaves and fish skins.

I have to stop writing now. In my own words, work is temporary but enjoyment is eternal.

One word, no, three words; Try to enjoy!
